Canine Good Citizen Class
*A 6 week class for any age or breed.
*Recommended to have a basic knowledge.
*Includes the Good Citizen test.
*60 minutes each week.
Done once a week, every dog should have the chance to become a Canine Good Citizen. The AKC honors all dogs, mixed breeds, purebred of any age. This is a 10-step program that every dog should be able to pass.
It shows you are a good, responsible owner with a well-behaved dog. A welcome dog is his community. With the passing of the test, your dog earns a title with AKC, the Gold Standard for dog behavior. The class to prepare for the Good Citizen test is four weeks. The last two weeks will be the Canine Good Citizen testing. It is all done on lead with positive training and praise.
When your dog is a registered Good Citizen, it is helpful with insurance, buying or renting a home, places to camp and stay in hotels. This title has many advantages. There is no age limit; young and old alike can take the test. For young puppies, they should go through Puppy and/or Basic Class first.
