Basic Level Group Classes

Our Basic Manners group dog training class is designed to help you set a solid foundation for important basic manners skills and to improve your understanding of a modern, science-based approach to communicating with and teaching your dog. In addition to manners skills useful for daily life and city living, this course will help you learn how to effectively increase desirable behaviors and decrease undesirable behaviors out in the real world and at home. Group Classes can be a wonderful opportunity to practice around distractions in order to best ensure reliable responses in challenging environments.

This is a 5 week class. Approximately one hour, held weekly. Cost is $150.00

  • REQUIREMENTS: (1) Record Current Vaccinations

  • WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS:
    1. A hungry but not starving dog
    2. Bite size high value treats
    3. A training pouch or pocket to carry them in. NO PLASTIC BAGS
    4. A 6 foot lead. NO RETRACTABLES ALLOWED
    5. A buckle collar & or harness.

Puppy Classes

This Puppy course is for puppies 8-16 weeks of age at the start of the class.

This is the starting point of all good things to come for you and your pup.

A Pawsitive way to teach your pups training is fun, rewarding. Your pup will be on their way to becoming well mannered and well adjusted member of your family. In this part of our Puppy Parenting Program you will learn the beginnings of fundamental obedience and manners skills like sit, down, come when called, and leash manners, as well as how to curb nipping, mouthing, and jumping up, how to house train, socialization protocols, and gentling and handling. CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Age 8 to 16 weeks at start of class
  • Vaccinations Distemper and Parvo vaccinations are required for any dog participating in classes. Dogs older than 4 months should also have received Rabies vaccinations. Proof of vaccinations required for admittance into first class. (Note: vaccination series for Distemper and Parvo does not have to be complete, but current and on track!)
  • Gear Flat, rolled, or no-slip collar or body harness or no-pull harness. Choke chains, prong or pinch collars and electronic collars are not permitted in class.
  • Behavior Dogs showing aggressive behaviors are not allowed in class. Puppies displaying nervousness or aggression around other dogs may consider our private training options.

Intermediate Classes

to improve skills for both owner and dog Improve your training skills and give your dog a new and fun challenge. This Intermediate Class is for the dogs that have completed and passed The Basic skills Class, or have trained with Diann. This class is not a good fit for the reactive, aggressive or fearful dog.

About Diann, Dog Trainer in Central Oregon

Me & My Approach to Training

I am a certified professional dog trainer with over 30 years of experience. I help you learn "to think like your dog." I believe that communication is the key to having that well-balanced dog be a member of your family that everyone wants to spend time with.

Group classes allow you to learn and practice skills around controlled distractions and encourage you to be consistent about training during the course period.

Private Lessons are more customized to your needs and Diann will work around your schedule, as well as come to you.

Training is a perfect way to build that special bond and learn how to communicate with each other. No pinch, shock, or choke chains are used.

Dianns Happy Tails focuses on supporting your dog through the early developmental stages of their life, and well beyond. Focusing on socialization, how dogs learn, and foundational cues - owners will have a better understanding of what motivates their dog's behavior.
